Put a camera in every student’s hands

CameraSim Classroom is an interactive photography course and virtual camera lab, built for teachers who want every student shooting, not just watching.
You know the problem...
You’ve got 30 students and 6 cameras — maybe fewer. So you lecture, you show slides, you demo on the projector, and hope they retain it when it’s finally their turn to shoot.

Photography is a hands-on craft. Your students should be learning it that way.
A classroom where every student has a camera
CameraSim Classroom gives your students their own interactive 3D camera simulator and a story-driven course that teaches exposure by doing, not by watching.
Students work at their own pace through Clicked!, an exposure course built around real photographic scenarios in a 3D environment. They make decisions, see results, and build intuition — the same way they would with a real camera in their hands.
How it works...
You sign up and create your classroom link.
One link. Share it however you share things with your students: LMS, email, whiteboard, whatever.

Students self-register and start the course.
Students create their own accounts through your link and begin working through Clicked! at their own pace.

You track progress from your dashboard.
See where every student is, who’s moving, who’s stuck. Up to 50 students at a time.

The Clicked! Course
A story-driven, interactive course that teaches exposure settings through 3D camera simulations. Students don’t read about aperture, shutter speed, and ISO. They use them. Shareable via classroom link with full progress tracking.

Ad-Free Camera Simulators
The same CameraSim tools teachers have trusted for 17 years, now without ads, optional fullscreen, and shareable with your students via a classroom link.

Virtual Camera Lab
Coming SoonA fully functional DSLR/mirrorless 3D simulator your students can use to practice shooting in a virtual environment. Like giving every student a camera and a studio — no equipment budget required.

Built by the creator of CameraSim
Hi, I’m Jon, and I’ve been building CameraSim’s free camera simulators for over 17 years, and they’ve been used by photography teachers and students worldwide. CameraSim Classroom is the next step: purpose-built for instructors who want to bring that same interactive, hands-on approach into a structured classroom experience.
Right now, beta members get full access to everything on this page, free. No time limit on the beta, but it won’t last forever. Sign up, try it with your class, and tell me what’s working.
Join the free betaWhen CameraSim Classroom moves to paid, one membership will unlock everything: Clicked!, classroom links, student tracking, ad-free sims, and everything I build next.
Frequently asked questions
What do my students need to use this?
A computer or tablet with a web browser. No downloads, no installs.
How do students access the course?
You share your classroom link. Students click it, create a temporary account, and they’re in. Takes less than a minute.
How many students can I have?
Up to 50 students working through the course at a time.
Can I preview the course before I pay?
During the beta, everything is free. Sign up and you’ll get full access to Clicked!, classroom links, student tracking, and ad-free sims. When the beta ends, I’ll give you plenty of notice before pricing takes effect.
Will I have to pay when the beta ends?
CameraSim Classroom will eventually move to a paid membership. Beta members will be the first to know the details, and I’ll make sure the transition is smooth.
I already use the free CameraSim simulators. Why would I pay for this?
The free sims on camerasim.com are great for demonstrating concepts to a class. CameraSim Classroom is for when you want each student to have their own hands-on experience, working through a structured course at their own pace while you track their progress. It’s the difference between showing your class a camera and giving every student one.
What’s coming next?
A virtual 3D camera lab: a fully functional DSLR/mirrorless simulator you can share with students for open-ended practice. Same classroom link model, same dashboard tracking.
